It’s never too early to start preparing for your child’s education, especially when there are exciting opportunities on the horizon. Hamilton County Schools is all set to open applications for its Choose Hamilton: School Choice 2024-2025.
The key features of the program include a uniform application timeline, lottery-style selection system for oversubscribed schools, simplified application process available in both English and Spanish, and the option for families to choose up to five schools and programs ranking 1-5 [1 being the top preference].
Its goal is to provide diverse and tailored educational experiences for K-12th graders that allows them to explore beyond traditional school boundaries. Moreso, students are encouraged to foster a sense of ownership while paving the way for them to thrive in a nurturing and customized learning environment where families can actively participate in shaping their child’s future aligning with their passion and aspirations.
Parents can attend five informational sessions. Each session will happen from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.

- December 7 [Thursday] | Dalewood Middle, 1300 Shallowford Rd.
- December 12 [Tuesday ] | East Side Elementary, 1603 S. Lyerly St.
- January 18 [Thursday] | Middle Valley Elementary, 1609 Thrasher Pk.
- January 25 [Thursday ] | Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, 865 E. 3rd St.
There will be a school fair on Thursday, January 11 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the East Brainerd Annex with representatives from each school.
Applications start today Monday, November 13 through Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
