The 2024 Chattanooga Men’s Health Summit, organized by the Tennessee Men’s Health Network, Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and Purpose Point Community Health is happening on April 6 at 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. With no admission fee, the event offers engaging discussions, screenings, vendor showcases and door prizes while highlighting the importance of men’s health issues in the community. Pastor Ternae Jordan, Sr., emphasizes the church’s role in promoting health advocacy, especially in at-risk communities, to combat the higher mortality rates at present.
Mike Leventhal, the executive director of TMHN, sees the urgency to promote such initiatives as some men in the state belong to the unhealthy category due to lifestyle factors like excessive eating, smoking and lack of physical activity. By creating a supportive environment and offering valuable resources, this will empower more men to prioritize their body and make positive changes to foster a healthier future.
