Chattanooga is raising a toast to a new community gem—Mean King Brewing, a brewery that blends the art of craft beer with the strategy of chess. It just opened this month at 1414 Jenkins Road near East Brainerd and Heritage Park. This innovative space is the brainchild of Alan Reis, whose passion for brewing and chess fuels its unique concept. Patrons can expect a welcoming atmosphere with carefully curated selection of beers like the New England IPA Queen’s Sacrifice and the Munich Dunkel Obscure Knight, plus they have plans of launching a local chess club this coming spring or summer. 

Reis began his journey in the beer industry at Grumpy Old Men Brewing in Georgia building on his years of dedication and hard work. A venture which reflects his entrepreneurial spirit, offering six taps with plans to expand to sixteen. This establishment is poised to become a hotspot to celebrate creativity and camaraderie for everyone.
