Every year, the City of Ringgold in Georgia proudly hosts the Festival of Flags, a moving tribute to the fallen military heroes of Catoosa County. From May 19 through June 2, more than two thousand American flags and memorial crosses will line Highway 41, Highway 151, and the streets of Downtown to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.  This will take place twice annually for Memorial and Veterans Day, which has grown steadily since the 1970s and now recognizes heroes who served as far back as World War I. Entirely volunteer-led, it showcases the heartwarming display of patriotism with local residents helping place, maintain, and preserve these sacred memorials.
