The Community Association of Historic St. Elmo (CAHSE) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the abundant history of one of its oldest suburbs. Established in the late 1970s, CAHSE has played a crucial role in designating the area as a historic zoning district and revitalizing its unique character through various initiatives. Under the leadership of current President Nathan Bird, the association focuses on:
- Zoning and Development
- Traffic Safety
- Security
- Opportunities and Advancement
- Events and Civic Engagement
Currently, they are looking to provide a long term solution in controlling the ongoing road conditions by implementing traffic calming measures on Tennessee and Virginia Avenue and help promote community events as well as create their own business league.
Monthly meetings are held every first Monday of each month around 7:00 PM at the St. Elmo Firehall. New and existing residents are encouraged to join and engage with the community partners to discuss resources and address neighborhood issues.
