Chattanooga is about to welcome a unique blend of literature and a side of your favorite tipple with the opening of The Reading Room, a bar and used bookstore set to launch in late spring. Imagine stepping into a cozy space with a dark wood bar, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and vintage lighting that creates the perfect ambiance for a quiet read or a lively conversation. If you’re planning to sip on a cocktail while diving into a new novel or host a book club meeting in a welcoming atmosphere, this place promises an experience unlike any other. Owner Linden Marno-Ferree, inspired by her love of books and her time working at Boston’s Harvard Bookstore, envisions the area as a cultural hub for community book clubs, art enthusiasts, and acting classes.
Located in the Brainerd neighborhood, operating hours will be from 12:00PM – 12:00AM to accommodate family time as well as adults-only evenings. With its eclectic interior design from antique decor to book-themed crafts, this new hotspot will foster a love for all things creative. So, stay tuned for updates with insider previews plus other exciting happenings on their social media account.
