Signal Centers recently celebrated the grand opening of its Friendship Pavilion and Adventure Trail, a community-driven project designed to inspire joy, learning, and inclusivity. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by the children of Signal Centers, brought together leadership, staff, and supporters to honor the vision that turned this dream into reality. Complete with a spacious pavilion featuring a covered wood ceiling, fire pit, and big screen for movie nights, as well as a hands-on adventure trail with bird blinds, benches, and activity stations. This new outdoor space provides children—especially those with disabilities—an enriching environment to explore, play, and grow.
This project was made possible through the dedication of Friends of Special Children, community donors, and local partners which includes Modus Build LLC and woodworker Keith Guillot. CEO Donna McConnico emphasized that the area is more than just a structure— but an outlet to enhance outdoor learning, chance to connect, and feel a sense of belonging. Since 1957, it has been a cornerstone in Chattanooga’s education and disability services by empowering children and families with resources that promote independence and encourage lifelong growth.
