A long-vacant convenience store at the corner of West 38th Street and Alton Park Boulevard has been transformed into one of South Chattanooga’s newest community gathering spots. After years of planning, fundraising, and neighborhood support led by Councilwoman Raquetta Dotley and the Net Resource Foundation, Cocoa Cafe officially opened on August 24. The café serves specialty coffee, breakfast, and lunch in a welcoming space designed to bring people together in the community.

More than a coffee shop, Cocoa Cafe was created to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses. The space includes a food truck commissary, kitchen incubator, event venue, and resources for emerging vendors looking to grow. Guests can stop in for breakfast biscuits, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and fresh salads while enjoying a community-focused atmosphere. With plans for rotating chefs, pop-up markets, private events, and local business support, the hub is helping create new opportunities while adding fresh energy to the neighborhood.
